Tim McKee is a very warm and personable host who makes everyone feel safe and comfortable. He is always looking to provide creative outlets for musicians, poets, and artists. His staff, particularly Roger and Nate are super friendly and prompt with their food deliveries. I, for one, think Hazel Perks Cafe is a very comfortable and eclectic environment.

One of my favorite places in the metro area! Great food and drinks. I suggest calling ahead to find out what the dinner special is. The venue also supports artists, musicians, and crafters. Hazel Park is lucky to have such a nice venue.

I started coming to Hazel Perk Cafe about a year now, I have nothing but great things about this place, I have love coming here. Getting to know the staff, meeting new people to know hosting events of my own here. Very much a safe space for the LGBT community, and definitely would love to see more of what this place has to offer. And if you are looking for a great Tuna Melt, look know no further. The owner, Tim makes the best. I will not going anywhere else for this sandwich.

I was in town for the weekend and found this cool spot. The cafe is cool beyond cool. It is an awesome spot for art, super heroes and Xbox lovers. Legit dude has his Xbox set up for people to chill and play. Legend. Apparently in the evenings there’s music too. I’m going to have to get back and catch that. Also the dude that was working, Roger, great guy. Very cool.

Absolutely Aservice, cappuccino was delicious and made fresh. Aesthetically perfect, energy is warm and welcoming. A gem of a coffee shop. But, it's more than that. An eclectic mix of everything for the guest! Coffee and food and atmosphere for your soul. Very proactive with hosting events for locals, small businesses, attracting a perfect melting pot of people. A gem for the neighborhood

I had the Mango Boba tea as well as the Roasted Veggie sandwich. The veggie sandwich was literally the best I have ever had. The aesthetic was cozy and everyone was immensely welcoming. I felt so safe as a woman here. I will definitely be returning and I highly recommend all of my friends to try this gem

I'm so glad I stopped by this cafe today. Hazel Perk Cafe is located at the end of a strip mall in Hazel Park. The atmosphere is cozy, yet eclectic. The dining room has a section of comfy upholstered furniture and an area with sturdy tables and chairs. There is a stack of board games and a coffee table full of books and magazines in case you want to kick back and spend some time here chilling. The place gives off homey, relaxing vibes. The walls are lined with artwork by local artists and the shelves, cabinets and hooks around the room are loaded with interesting merchandise created or sold by locals. Today's host, Roger, was very welcoming. He guided me through the menu and offered several suggestions. I ordered the Caesar salad and their Rueben sandwich. Both were served on retro Corelle dishes. The romaine lettuce in the salad was crispy and cold. It was lightly tossed in a Caesar dressing, with shreds of parmesan, crunchy croutons and a twist of fresh pepper. The Rueben was served on large slices of rye bread and was finished on a panini press. The bread was crispy but not too greasy. The sandwich had a lot of flavorful corned beef and just the right amount of Swiss cheese, sauerkraut and thousand island dressing. It was tasty but not too messy. I got extra lucky today. A local musician, Mike, was sipping coffee and playing the piano while I ate my lunch. The music was soothing and created a relaxing experience. I enjoyed my lunch immensely. They have an open mic night and weekend jams there too. I am looking forward to checking out the scene.
